Connect are thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted for a Diversity in the Workplace award at this years Excellence in Diversity Awards (EIDA).
The Excellence in Diversity Awards recognise organisations that harness a truly diverse workforce and who excel in their commitment to equality and inclusion across all strands of diversity.
The awards cover excellence in a variety of areas including age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race and religion, all within a wide range of sectors including both the public and private sector.
Top performing organisations that reflect a truly diverse workforce will be featured in a definitive list of the UK’s most inclusive workplaces published after the awards, which take place on May 12th at The Queens Hotel in Leeds.
Competition is tough with nominees in our category including ASDA, British Airways and Allianz.
Judging the awards are several leading and proactive figures known for their work relating to equality in their sectors, from companies including PwC, ITV, Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and many more.
Lead Developer at Connect, Ruth Mills nominated Connect for the award and has said:
"Working for Connect has been a dream come true. As a transgender woman, Connect was the first company I was successful at interviewing for following my transition - and it's also the most diverse place I've ever worked. At Connect, you can be yourself, and people will accept you as you are - as one of the team. It's this welcoming atmosphere that's made me so happy here, and has inspired me to push myself and excel."
Tracey Knowles, Head of HR adds:
“We are very pleased to be recognised for our commitment to this important area and I believe every organisation has a duty to manage and embrace diversity in the workplace. Diversity at Connect is all about valuing our employees as individuals. It’s this sort of diversity that helps us to create an environment in which we can think big, collaborate, inspire one another and achieve results!”
